What is Run for Music?



Run For Music is a fundraising and advocacy project of the Alberta Choral Federation. Participants will take part in a 5 km run, a 5km walk, or a 10 km run. Unique in its design, while advocating for the importance of choral music, funds raised through Run For Music pledges are split between Edmonton-and-area choirs and the Alberta Choral Federation.

FREE Wirth Institute Series - Enterprise Quartet 12pm today!

Join us for our third FREE performance under the theme 'Great Patrons of Central European Music', a new series sponsored by the Wirth Institute at the University of Alberta. These noon-hour concerts take place in the lobby of the Winspear Centre.

This concert features two string quartets by Ludwig van Beethoven, Op. 18 Nos. 2 and 5. Beethoven's Op. 18 quartets are nicknamed the 'Lobkowicz quartets' after Joseph Franz Maximilian Lobkowicz (1772-1816), a famous patron of music.

Introductory remarks by Dr. Franz Szabo, Department of History, University of Alberta.
