July saw the launch of another addition to the City of Edmonton Public Art Collection: Sound Columns, a first in our city in terms of being a functioning, permanent public audio installation.
Located outside the entrance to Queen Elizabeth Pool, Sound Columns uses recordings of and near water systems from all over the city, captured and edited into experimental soundscapes by Vancouver’s Andreas Kahre and Darren Coupland of Toronto.
Sound Columns was acquired under the City's Percent for Art policy.
